DTI Publications, Inc. was formed in 1996 by Diane Nicholl and Kirk Webb to publish firearms training books. The initials, DTI come from John S. Farnam's company, Defense Training International, Inc. Mr. Farnam has been teaching defensive firearms courses to individuals, police deparments, federal and state agencies as well as foreign governments for over 30 years.
Our first project was the publication of the book, The Farnam Method of Defensive Shotgun and Rifle Shooting. This was followed by The Farnam Method of Defensive Handgunning, originally published by Firearms Academy of Seattle.
In 2002 we published Teaching Women To Shoot: A Law Enforcement Instructor's Guide authored by Vicki Farnam and Diane Nicholl.
In late 2005, we published the updated and revised second edition of The Farnam Method of Defensive Handgunning.
Recently, we finished the companion student book for female shooters, Women Learning To Shoot: A Guide for Law Enforcement Officers. This is available as of mid-May 2006.
Our current project is publishing John Farnam's DTI Quips in book form. The first volume is available as of July 2006 and covers the quips from 1998 through 2002. It is called Guns and Warriors: DTI Quips Volume 1.
